The President Hotel is located directly on Collins Avenue, minutes away from the famed pedestrian shopping and entertainment center of Miami Beach, Lincoln Road, as well as a vast array of restaurants, cafes and other entertainment venues. The theme color of the President is green, due to its predominantly natural color scheme of green and white, simply peaceful and crisp guest rooms. The President Hotel, designed by L. Murray Dixon, is an elegant example of 1930s Classic Art Deco with recessed corners, framed windows, horizontal banding, decorative wrought iron railings and patterned terrazzo floors. The President Hotel building was designed in 1936 and built in 1937. It was converted to efficiency apartments during World War II. The original features of the building including floors, murals, and ironwork have been restored to their original splendor. The Hotel is located in the heart of the Art Deco District and just one block from the beach. This property offers easy access to explore numerous attractions including the Miami Beach Convention Center, Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive, the Filmore Theater and Collins and Washington Avenues, which are all within walking distance.
